Better known as Gus Anton, Abdul Qadir Amir Hartono, S.E., S.H., M.H is the son of an Islamic leader in Malang, East Java, K.H. Achmad Sjafiy. Born in Sumenep 30 September 1974, Gus Anton elected as Senator the first time in the period 2014-2019 by gaining 917.275 votes representing East Java Province.

Gus Anton completed his primary education in primary schools Dinoyo III Malang, graduated in 1987, continued to Public Junior Highschool 8 Malang, graduated in 1990, then to Public Highschool 4 Malang and graduated in the year 1993. His Bachelor degree is taken at two different campuses in the University of Islam Malang (UNISMA), graduated in 1998, and the University of Darul Ulum Jombang, graduated in 2001. He then continued his Master Degree in the field of Constitutional Law at the University of Widyagama Malang, graduated in 2003. In addition to formal education, Anton also had a lot of studying in some boarding school in East Java.

His mission as a senator of DPD RI, Anton is willing to fight for existence and strengthen DPD RI on third period of 2014-2019, became the forerunner of a new history in which the DPD RI becomes a strong institution, balanced and equal to the DPR as the expectations of the people of Indonesia, especially in East Java Province.

Related to this, the following are Gus Anton's steps while sitting as a senator:
1. To promote the aspirations of the people of East Java to achieve equitable development on social welfare in order to strengthen the integrity of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia on an ongoing basis; 
2. To encourage greater attention of the central government toward the important issues in East Java; 
3. To strengthen the status of DPD as a legislative body with the functions and authority to propose, to discuss, to give consideration, and to supervise the implementation of the law, especially concerning the interests of East Java; 
4. To improve the function and authority of DPD RI to strengthen the system of checks and balances through amendments to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (Fifth Amendment Proposal of 1945 Constitution); 
5. To develop patterns of relationship and cooperation and strategic synergy with the main stakeholders in East Java and in the central.
