Dr. Oesman Sapta

Oesman Sapta, born in Sukadana, West Kalimantan, August 18, 1950, is a businessman and Indonesian politician. Oesman was born of the Odang couple (father) from Palopo, South Sulawesi and Asnah Hamid (mother) from Sulit Air, Solok, West Sumatera. He is the owner of OSO Group conglomerate engaged in printing, mining, mineral water, property, plantation, fishery, transportation, communications, and hotel.

Oesman Sapta is the founder of Regional Unity Party and the Chairman of the Indonesian Farmers Association (HKTI) since 2010. To support tourism in his hometown of hard water, he built rumah gadang (Indonesian traditional house) as a tourist attraction and a place of information.

Here are a few organizations he had followed, namely:
1. The Chairman of the Indonesian Farmers Association (HKTI) in 2010-Present;
2. The Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Oil Cooperative in 2002-Present;
3. The Chairman of the KKI Central Board in the period of 2002 - 2011;
4. The Chairman of the DPP Regional Unity Party in the period of 2002-2004;
5. The Chairman of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of West Kalimantan Province in the period of 1998-2004.

Oesman Sapta was elected as a member of DPD RI of West Kalimantan by 188.528 votes, at this time other than as a senator, Oesman Sapta also the Vice Chairman of MPR in  2014 - 2019 period, before Oesman Sapta also served as a Member of MPR RI in the Regional Representatives Faction of West Kalimantan in 1999 - 2004 period, Chairman of the Regional Representatives Faction Preparation MPR - RI in 2001 - 2002 period, Chairman of the Regional Representatives Faction MPR RI in 2001-2002 period, as well as Vice Chairman of the MPR in 2002-2004 period.
