Explaining Ethical Violations, LaNyalla Asks BK to Stop Fadel

29 September 2022 oleh admin

JAKARTA, dpd.go.id - Chairman of the Republic of Indonesia DPD, AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti, asked the Honorary Board (BK) to impose a sanction on dismissal as a member of the Republic of Indonesia DPD to Senator from Gorontalo, Fadel Muhammad.

LaNyalla also asked Fadel Muhammad to apologize to himself before the DPD RI Plenary Session and national media.

According to LaNyalla, Fadel Muhammad had violated the code of ethics, especially Article 5 letter e, letter f and letter h DPD Regulation number 2 of 2018 concerning the DPD RI Code of Ethics.

This request was conveyed by LaNyalla while attending the DPD RI Honorary Board Session in the Mataram Room, Building B DPD RI Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (29/9/2022). The trial agenda was to hear the main issues raised by LaNyalla as the complainant.

Present was the Chairman of the BK DPD RI Leonardy Harmainy, Deputy Chairperson of the BK, Made Mangku Pastika, Eni Sumarni and Marthin Billa, as well as 8 other BK members.

LaNyalla as the complainant, explained that the alleged violation of the code of ethics by Fadel Muhammad occurred on 13-14 August 2022 during the Honorary Board (BK) Meeting at the Mercure Hotel Jakarta. At that time, 8 members of the BK were present with the agenda of finalizing the results of the evaluation and improving the DPD regulations regarding the code of ethics.

"In the meeting, Brother Fadel Muhammad issued a statement accusing me of coordinating a DPD member in issuing a motion of no confidence to withdraw him as MPR deputy chairman from the DPD element. Brother Fadel also accused me of giving money to DPD members to facilitate the process of the motion of no confidence," he said.

In addition, on 15 August 2022 during the 13th Plenary Session for session V for the 2021-2022 session year, in the Nusantara V Building which was attended by 114 members, Fadel, who was supposed to submit a performance report as chairman of the MPR from DPD elements, instead submitted accusations as previously stated. happened during the BK Meeting.

Regarding the replacement of the MPR leadership from DPD elements which began with a letter of no-confidence motion withdrawing support for Fadel, LaNyalla said this was the aspiration of most DPD members. This aspiration was accommodated and followed up by him, as the leader of the DPD, according to the mechanism regulated in the DPD RI Rules of Procedure.

"I explained that as DPD chairman I was only carrying out my duties as DPD leader as stipulated in regulation number 1 of 2002 concerning order in article 57. That is, the DPD leadership has the task of chairing the DPD session and concluding the results of the session to make a decision," he said.

Therefore, with some of Fadel's statements, LaNyalla felt slandered and defamed before the members of the DPD RI.

"Brother Fadel accused without valid authentic evidence and did not ask for clarification from me first. His statement was also irrational, how could I mobilize to give money in raising a motion of no confidence," he said.

LaNyalla also explained that he met with Fadel on 11 August 2022 but never directed Fadel, who at that time was still the deputy chairman of the MPR from the DPD element, to walk out at the Joint Session on 16 August 2022.

"I also never made a high-pitched and harsh voice to him," he said.(*)
