MALANG, dpd.go.id - Chairman of the DPD RI, AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti, filled the recess period by visiting Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji, at Malang City Hall, East Java, Thursday (20/10/2022).

The two characters discussed many things. One of them is the central government's plan to rebuild Kanjuruhan Stadium.

LaNyalla appreciated the steps taken by the central government to dismantle and rebuild the Kanjuruhan Stadium. However, he hopes that the Kanjuruhan Stadium will not only be built.

"Actually, what President Jokowi said about the construction of the Kanjuruhan Stadium is good. But surely other areas will be jealous. So don't just say Kanjuruhan, Gajayana Stadium and others must also be considered," said LaNyalla.

However, LaNyalla emphasized that she did not want to comment much on the Kanjuruhan Tragedy. As the former chairman of PSSI, he feels it is not good to talk about it. Especially now that he has held the reins of the PB Muaythai sports branch.

"I am indeed limited to commenting on the Kanjuruhan Tragedy from the implementing side, namely PSSI. It doesn't feel good because I am the former chairman of PSSI, then at this time I am also the Chairman of PB Muaythai," he said.

But for the victims, LaNyalla admitted that he had asked the government to handle it properly and get their rights, both the injured and the dead.

"I appreciate the handling of the regional and provincial governments towards the victims of the Kanjuruhan incident. For example, the costs of the victims are borne, then the heirs also receive compensation. I hope there will also be trauma healing for the victims, because there are children who lose their fathers or vice versa, there are also husbands who lose their wives and others," he said.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, conveyed several things related to development in the Malang City area. Including some of the obstacles faced.

"Incidentally, the Chairman of the DPD RI is visiting Malang City. This is an opportunity for us at the City Government to coordinate and convey aspirations so that later they can be forwarded to the central government," he said, accompanied by Malang City Secretary Erik Setyo Santoso, S.T., M.T. and Ida Ayu Made Wahyuni, Head of Malang City Culture and Tourism Office.
