KEDIRI, dpd.go.id - The Wali Barokah Islamic Boarding School in Kediri asked the Chairman of the DPD RI, AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti, to help realize the pesantren's endowment fund in a fair and proportionate manner.

The chairman of the DPD RI was present at the Wali Barokah Islamic Boarding School to fill the Public Lecture on Nationality and Entrepreneurship Insights, Sunday (23/10/2022).

According to the Chairperson of the Wali Barokah Islamic Boarding School, Drs. H. Sunarto, M.Si, the Pesantren Law has been ratified since 2019. Then in 2021, President Joko Widodo has signed Presidential Decree Number 82/2021 regarding the Pesantren Endowment Fund. However, so far the funds have not been disbursed.

"In fact, if the funds are realized, it will be very useful because it is specifically allocated for pesantren and is eternal in nature to ensure the continuity of the development of pesantren, so that we can continue to carry out the functions of pesantren which include three things, namely the function of education, the function of da'wah, and the function of community empowerment," he added. he.

Therefore, the Chairperson of the Wali Barokah Islamic Boarding School hopes that the Chairman of the DPD RI can submit complaints from the pesantren to the President, the Ministry of Religion and other relevant agencies.

"Even though we look relatively well-established, if we look into it, there are still many things that we need to continuously encourage and solve together. Especially in terms of the welfare of the teachers and administrators, as well as the non-physical infrastructure needed," he continued.

The chairman of the Islamic Boarding School also said that since 2018 they have been developing a rooftop hybrid solar power plant. This was done to help the government a little in the development and use of new and renewable energy.

"We are still combining electricity supply from PLN and solar power. Even though we have been able to produce 225 KWh, only about 60 percent of it is used," he said.

The chairman of the DPD RI, AA LaNyalla MAHMUD Mattalitti, appreciated the development of solar power that had been carried out by the Wali Barokah Islamic Boarding School.

Regarding the pesantren's endowment fund, according to him, the DPD RI will ask for an explanation from the Ministry of Religion.

"Essentially, we agree that these funds need to be realized immediately so that the Pesantren program in educating the younger generation becomes intelligent and moral people without being constrained," he said. (*)
