WONDAMA, dpd.go.id- West Papua Senator Filep Wamafma kept his promise and returned four children from Roon village, Teluk Wondama district, West Papua who now have a law degree to their families. The four people previously had the opportunity to get free lectures at the Manokwari College of Law (STIH).

The handover was carried out directly by Filep Wamafma to coincide with the GKI Anniversary in Papua today, Wednesday (26/10/2022). This proves that Filep Wamafma's promise has never been denied and confirms his commitment to developing human resources (HR) in Papua, especially in Roon village, Teluk Wondama district.

The four names that were returned from the STIH campus to Roon's parents or extended family were Musa Wonemseba, S.H., Ohola N. Akwan, S.H., Matelda Waropen, S.H. and Gento Akwan, S.H. They managed to get a law degree in 2021.

On that occasion, one of the community representatives in Saybes village, Teluk Wondama district, Stefanus Betay admitted that he was very moved by the momentum this evening. Betay expressed his gratitude to Filep Wamafma for being able to attend and meet with the community as well as handing over their diplomas to their children.

“On behalf of our family, we thank you for coming to meet us and I also thank you for handing over their diplomas directly to us. So this proves that you are a leader who cares about the future of the generation in West Papua," said Stefanus Betay.

The certificates are handed over to the parents directly. It is also a form of appreciation for the struggle of parents to their children to succeed in obtaining a law degree.

After handing over the diploma, Filep Wamafma as chairman of STIH Manokwari advised Roon's four native children to keep the spirit, work, and get a good job. Filep reminded that the first income can also be given to parents. (*)
