The Chairman of the DPD RI Explains the Different Concepts of Pancasila and Capitalist Economics to Polije (Jember State Polytechnic) Students

JEMBER, dpd.go.id - The chairman of the DPD RI, AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti, explained the striking differences between the economic concepts of Pancasila and the capitalist economy while giving a public lecture at the Jember State Polytechnic (Polije).

"The Pancasila economic system will certainly enrich the people. Meanwhile, the capitalist economic system will enrich the oligarchs," said LaNyalla, Tuesday (10/25/2022).

However, this country actually applies the concept of a capitalist economy that pursues an economic growth rate that is equivalent to the tax ratio. The economic mechanism is left to the market, which further enriches the individual owners of capital, including foreigners.

"The position of the state, is no longer absolute control over the earth, water and natural wealth. The state will only become the 'Host' or Master of Ceremony to give the red carpet to any investor who will build in Indonesia. With all kinds of bonuses given. Starting with tax relief up to HGB which can be extended for up to 160 years," he said.

The state is also only the giver of Concession Permits for Gold and Coal Mines and other minerals, granting Permits for the use of forests for oil palm land. The state is only the licensee for the investment of China's nickel smelters.

The state only gets royalties and export taxes from Indonesia's Natural Wealth which is drained by the Economic Oligarchy, which collaborates with foreigners.

"That's why Indonesia's state budget is always minus. So it must be covered with foreign debt with very high interest rates," he said.

All of this happened after the 1999 to 2002 Constitutional Amendments, especially Article 33 of the original text of the 1945 Constitution and its Elucidation which was originally changed from 3 paragraphs to 5 paragraphs and completely deleted the Explanatory Manuscript.

LaNyalla continued, Indonesia's economic system known as the Pancasila economic system, in essence is, the state must have full control over the earth and water and the wealth in it. Including mastering the branches of production that are important for the livelihood of many people.

So that the Indonesian economy, which is run by three main pillars, namely cooperatives or people's businesses, state and private companies, both national and foreign private, runs proportionally.

"With a clear division position, between the public goods area which must be controlled by the state, and the commercial goods area which can be carried out by national and foreign private companies, as well as the wedge between the two, where the state must be the majority controller," he explained.

The figure from Bugis who grew up in Surabaya emphasized that Indonesia should be a superior and strong country. Because Indonesia does have a comparative advantage.

For this reason, LaNyalla hopes that students and academics at universities will reread the thoughts of the nation's founders.

About the democratic system and the economic system that best suits the geography and comparative advantage of this nation.

"That's why I invite all of us to return to the original 1945 Constitution. Then it will be refined by an addendum, so that it does not eliminate Pancasila as the highest legal norm," he said.
