dpd.go.id - Member of Committee IV DPD RI from Aceh, H. Sudirman or popularly known as Haji Uma held a meeting with Representatives of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Region Office 1 Banda Aceh which took place at Culture Coffee, Lhokseumawe, Wednesday (4/1/2023) afternoon.

During the meeting, BSI Aceh was represented by Retail Financing Business Deputy BSI Aceh Regional Saiful Musadir who was accompanied by Deputy Branch Manager BSI Lhokseumawe area, Yanrizal Fahlevi and Priority Banking Manager Firdaus. The Aceh Regional BSI explained that a number of service quality improvements had been made until the end of 2022.

One of them is upgrading and replacing new ATM machines in strategic locations such as the Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport, the Hermes Palace Hotel, and on Sabang Island. According to Saiful Musadir as conveyed to Haji Uma, at this time the three strategic locations can already serve transactions using debit cards bearing the Visa and Mastercard logos. BSI targets that starting January 2023 the process of upgrading ATM machines will continue for all BSI ATM machines in Aceh, so that they can process debit card transactions with the Visa and Mastercard logos.

Regarding this achievement, the Regional Chief Executive Officer (RCEO) of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Region 1 Aceh, Wisnu Sunandar also expressed his gratitude to Haji Uma who has played a role in supporting the Qanun LKS and accelerating efforts to improve the quality of BSI services in Aceh.

The gratitude from the leadership of BSI Region 1 Aceh was conveyed to Haji Uma via his personal WhatsApp and through Saiful Musadir at the meeting that took place yesterday. As is well known, since BSI officially operated until mid-2022, there have been many problems and complaints from the public regarding the quality of BSI services in Aceh. Including a complaint from a foreign tourist who could not access the cash withdrawal service at a BSI ATM in Aceh, because he was using a foreign bank debit card.

Following up on a number of complaints and aspirations from the public, Haji Uma then officially wrote to Bank Indonesia (BI) to speed up the licensing process for submitting banking services in Aceh, especially BSI and Bank Aceh Syariah as part of BI's support for the implementation of the Qanun LKS in Aceh.

Haji Uma's official letter to BI became one of the triggers that prompted the leadership of the BSI head office in Jakarta to pay special attention and prioritize Aceh regarding improving service quality. In fact, not long after that, the Director of Central BSI immediately visited Aceh.

Meanwhile, in response to the presentation of BSI's service quality improvement achievements, especially ATM machines with visa and mastercard debit card transaction services that have been operating in three locations. Haji Uma hopes that in the future the BSI ATM machine service upgrades should gradually be increased in a number of other cities in Aceh, especially those that are tourist destinations. "We appreciate the efforts to improve service quality that have been carried out by BSI in Aceh. In the future, we hope that maximum service access to ATM machines will continue to be expanded in a number of other cities in Aceh, especially those that are destinations for domestic and international tourists," hoped Haji Uma.
