DPD RI Received a Visit from Maritim Muda Nusantara

Jakarta, dpd.go.id - Vice Chairman of DPD RI Nono Sampono received a visit from the Central Management of the Maritim Muda Nusantara (MMN) for the 2023-2026 period in the Vice Chairman Office Room, 8th Floor Nusantara III Building, Parliament Complex Senayan Jakarta, Tuesday (10/01 /2023). During the visit, MMN representatives asked Nono Sampono for directions regarding preparations for the inauguration of the Maritim Muda Nusantara board for the 2023-2026 period which will be held in the near future, as well as the empowerment of members of the Maritim Muda Nusantara in future work programs. Nono Sampono said that currently the younger generation has a very important role in participating in efforts to increase awareness of maritime potential in Indonesia. "With 2/3 of the country being oceans, it's a shame if people don't realize the great potential that their own country has," said Nono. According to Nono, we still lack awareness of the maritime axis, people are still enjoying playing on land, they forget we have the sea. "On land it's easier but land is limited, while in the sea there are fish, there is oil and gold, it's just a matter of how we manage it well. Then in the service sector, almost 70 percent of intercontinental transportation is carried out by sea. And almost all transportation in our seas is dominated by ships with foreign flags," he stressed. Not to forget, Nono also invited the younger generation who are members of the Maritim Muda Indonesia to develop all their potential and be able to establish ties with other coastal areas and island areas. On the same occasion, the Emperor also explained the development of this maritime youth association organization. "We, Maritim Muda Nusantara, are a national-level maritime youth association organization that has 34 provincial-level regional organizations, 47 regency/city-level branch organizations and has more than 5,000 members," explained Emperor Akhir as General Chairperson of Maritim Muda Nusantara. On this occasion the Late Emperor was also accompanied by Secretary General Nanda Anggiani Putri, Chief Executive of Prima Insamilandari Syah and other administrators. Not forgetting, Nono Sampono congratulated the formation of Central Management of Maritim Muda Nusantara for the 2023-206 period. "Happy working, I hope this will be part of the contribution of the younger generation and become something important for the interests of this nation because talking about maritime affairs, it is still far from expectations, so there needs to be a younger generation like you to come and come forward to fill in the empty lines," concluded Nono Sampono.
