Chairman of DPD RI Appreciates Herd Immunity in Surabaya

SURABAYA, dpd.go.id - The success of Surabaya in winning an award from the Ministry of Health for successfully realizing Herd Immunity, was appreciated by the Chairman of the DPD RI, AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti.

"The award that was won shows that the Government of Surabaya is serious about dealing with the Covid-19 outbreak that has hit Surabaya," said LaNyalla who was in recess in East Java, Wednesday (4/1/2023).

The senator from East Java is sure that this success will make Surabaya City faster in carrying out economic recovery.

"So there's no need to worry if at this time the central government revokes the PPKM policy. Because, the city of Surabaya can be better in preparing to recover sectors affected by the Covid-19 outbreak," he said.

Not only that, LaNyalla also invited all regional heads in East Java to continue to be enthusiastic and optimistic about recovering the economy and other sectors.

As well as mutual collaboration and synergy across sectors to re-grow the economy.

The Ministry of Health gave three categories of awards to City of Heroes for this achievement. Consisting of categories for Agencies (Surabaya Municipal Government), Health Facilities (Health Service Facilities) and Individuals (Heads of Health Centers).

Meanwhile, the results of vaccination in the city of Surabaya for doses 1 and 2 are above 100 percent.

Meanwhile, as of January 1st, 2023, vaccination for dose 3 in Surabaya had reached 58.51 percent or exceeded the national target. (*)
