JAKARTA, dpd.go.id - Committee III DPD RI held a working meeting with the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno, Tuesday (17/01/2023) in DPD RI. During the meeting, Committee III DPD RI asked Sandiaga Uno to be able to develop the tourism sector in the region, including the development of the creative economy in it.

"Committee III DPD RI supports the strategic program and work plan of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in 2023 in an effort to equalize and grow regional tourism and the creative economy throughout Indonesia," said Chairman of Committee III DPD RI Hasan Basri.

In the meeting, Committee III DPD RI also supported the revision of Law no. 10 of 2009 concerning Tourism. The dynamic nature of the tourism and creative economy sector must be supported by regulations that follow developments in the Indonesian tourism sector.

"The hard work of the Minister (Sandiaga Uno) and the Deputy Minister (Angela Herliani Tanoesoedibjo) which has yielded real results, is lacking strong protection without revising this law. If you really have to take the initiative from your ministry, please. And we from Committee III will support this Tourism Law," said DPD RI Member from Bali Anak Agung Gde Agung.

During the meeting, several members of the DPD RI hoped that there would be the development of MSMEs as regional creative businesses in the tourism sector. DPD RI member from Lampung Jihan Nurlela hopes that Sandiaga Uno will be able to develop a MSME-UMKM development program in Islamic boarding schools. According to him, currently the UMKM Islamic boarding school sector in Lampung has great potential in the creative economy in the province.

"I hope that digitalpreneur students can touch Islamic boarding schools in the village. It is hoped that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy can provide ongoing guidance to MSMEs in Islamic boarding schools," said Jihan.

In the same vein, DPD RI Member from South Sumatra Arniza Nilawati also hoped that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy can support the development of the creative economy in her province. Because according to her, currently many MSMEs in South Sumatra do not have a place to develop their product creativity.

"In South Sumatra, until this moment, people still complain where we gather regarding the creativity of these MSMEs. Creative support for MSMEs is still minimal," Arniza explained.

Meanwhile, the Minister Sandiaga Uno explained, in 2022, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy had developed a tourist village by optimizing the potential of the creative economy. During 2022, the development of tourism villages and the implementation of community-based tourism reached a total of 3,620 tourism villages, 2,369 pilots, 958 developing, 283 advanced, and 11 independent villages.

"Meanwhile, for the award of Indonesian tourist villages in 2022, 3,419 tourist villages have been registered," he added.

Meanwhile, for the development of the creative economy ecosystem, Sandiaga explained that in 2022 there will be nine districts/cities that have been facilitated.

"And as many as eight districts/cities have carried out the PMK3I sampling and 35 districts/cities have been given workshops," he said.

During the meeting, the Deputy Minister for Tourism and Creative Economy Angela Herliani Tanoesoedibjo in 2023 stated that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy had a government work plan (RKP) theme in the form of increasing productivity for an inclusive and sustainable economic transformation.

"One of the RKP 2023 policy directions is to encourage the recovery of the business world," she added.**ars
