LaNyalla: The Implementation of KKN Must be More Optimal to Help Village Development

JAKARTA, dpd.go.id - Chairman of DPD RI, AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti, assessed that the Community Service Program (KKN) must be optimized to accelerate the development and advancement of villages.

For this reason, LaNyalla encourages concrete cooperation between universities and local governments. This is because many campuses implement the KKN program as a graduation requirement for students.

"KKN as an embodiment of the Tri Dharma of higher education has many benefits. This must be well understood by the local government, so that it can support village development," said LaNyalla, Saturday (14/1/2023).

The senator from East Java added that the cooperation carried out could be adjusted to the achievement targets or targets for village development or regional development.

LaNyalla hopes that the KKN program will not only be part of a mere formality, but actually be useful. At least KKN activities change the community's paradigm to become more advanced and produce various innovations for the village government.

"Imagine if the KKN program succeeded in bringing up the idea of building and developing a village or region, of course there would be a lot of potential achievements that could be achieved," he said.

For example, said LaNyalla, there are still many villages that don't understand how to develop BUMDes, create community economic opportunities, village tourism and other opportunities.

As is well known, UGM is exploring opportunities for cooperation with Banten Province in order to strengthen regional development through KKN activities. Programs that will be carried out include village development and human resource development. (*)
