Syech Fadhil at Senayan: Aceh Produces Oil and Gas, but Queues for Subsidized Fuel are Everywhere

JAKARTA, dpd.go.id - DPD RI Senator from Aceh, H.M. Fadhil Rahmi Lc., M.A., asked the central government to pay special attention to Aceh regarding the scarcity of subsidized Oil and Gas Fuel (BBM) in Aceh. This caused long queues in a number of areas in Aceh.

This condition occurred until early January 2023 and there has been no concrete solution from the government.

"Aceh is an oil and gas producer, but queues for subsidized fuel are everywhere," said the man who is familiarly called Syech Fadhil at the Plenary Session of the DPD RI in Senayan, Monday 9 January 2023.

"It is very ironic when Aceh is an oil and gas producer, but the people's need for fuel is not sufficient. This condition has been going on for almost half a year," said the doctoral candidate at UIN Ar-Raniry.

Syech Fadhil asked that the issue of the subsidized fuel crisis in Aceh be a serious issue that must be addressed immediately. Moreover, he said, DPD is an institution that represents regional aspirations.

In addition, Syech Fadhil asked related parties, in this case BPH Migas to increase the subsidized fuel quota for Aceh.

"I ask the DPD RI institutionally to be concerned with this problem," emphasized the friend of Ustadz Abdul Somad (UAS) in Aceh.

Previously it was reported that Syech Fadhil also received complaints from the majority of residents when he went down to the coast of Aceh the week before. The majority of residents complain that it is difficult to obtain subsidized fuel for their daily needs, especially for truck drivers and other public transport.

Drivers have to queue for hours to get subsidized fuel. This resulted in their working hours being reduced. (*)
